Finding a guru is something organic. Devotion, love and veneration towards your guru comes naturally from practicing their instructions and getting results that turns you into a better person. The guru teaches and point us to our true nature, and this ends the cycle of suffering and compulsory rebirth in samsara. There is no better thing than that. It’s more precious than the care and love you received from your parents. When you truly see the guru as inseparable with the buddha and the nature of reality, you gain the most profound realizations and your mind and his own mind becomes inseparable with the realization of all the buddhas. But to have this relationship and realization, you have to find someone you really trust.

I've always done intuitive consecration, really just based on what it felt was meaningful to the object. Like out in a full moon, or over the smoke of a charged candle. But I really learned something from this about how to store and revere them.

I spontaneously came to the conclusion that a certain combination of rituals similar to baptism and anointing was necessary to begin the use of magical objects, even in a polytheistic context.

The opening description of initiation reminds me of my initiation as a Mormon. Hadn't made that connection before!

I’m not a particularly spiritual person, but I do feel like I consecrate my pens through use with my journals, eventually they tend to receive unique sentimental names that get recorded in the back of my journals on each day that I use them. I generally only use my fountain pens for journals which are for mental health and also creativity so in that way they are specific purpose tools.

david smiths non-laboratory commentary on lambsprinck is very interesting and a bit more 'down to earth' than some of his other offerings in language and practicality i ordered it immediately when i got the email advert, highly recommended and a nice softcover print.

I'm backing the Telos Tarot of 777 because I'm so grateful for M.M. Meleen's previous tarot deck, Tablua Mundi. It's one of the finest esoteric tarot decks ever created. Meleen is a free-thinking Thelemite and clearly has a profound knowledge of magick and astrology. I've learned so much from Tabula Mundi and its excellent accompanying book, especially when it comes to astrology. Although she doesn't base her designs directly on previous decks, the Tabula Mundi's images have become embedded in my psyche due to how clearly and accurately she portrays the archetypes. I can't recommend Tabula Mundi enough, which is why I'm so excited to see the Telos Tarot!
